The Posidonia australis / ribbon weed

is the largest plant which has been

recently discovered in Shark Bay by a

group of researchers from Flinders

University and the University of

Western Australia. This 4,500 years old

plant covers an area of 20,000 hectares

in the oceans off southern Australia.
