Why do we celebrate Women's Day on March 8?

Women, the epitome of wisdom, truth, sacrifice and love, need attention the most. In patriarchal societies, she feels depressed , dejected and forelorn. She faces discrimination and bias from cradle to grave. In order to help these unsung heroes seek respect, this day is being celebrated all over the world. 

What is the theme this year?

Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow is the campaign theme this year. Gender bias is the root cause of all the problems. A woman can not breathe freely even if she is sitting in the lap of nature. She is unable to express her feelings in front of the world. She has to bear bizarre situations when she walks alone. She has to snub her wishes, needs and desires in her own home.

What does she need?

Women, brought up in poor environment, needs special attention. Today, she stands equal with her mate in every field. Be it home or society. She wants to be treated at par with her fellow beings. She wants justice and peace. 

Achievements and Accomplishments:

No doubt, she has touched the space. Kalpana Chawla and Sunita Williams are the finest examples. Stunning!

She knows how to get involved in enforcing the law. IPS Kiran Bedi, Dr Anshu Jain, IPS Parm Jyoti and many more are here to maintain law and order. Alarming!

Many outstanding female doctors are there who changed the world. Two of them are: Dr Kamini Rao, Dr Anandibai Joshi. Great!

The most influential politicians are : Indira Gandhi, Mayawati, Sonia Gandhi, etc. The hand that rocks the cradle can rule the world. Really!

Popular Female singers who mesmerize the world with their mellifluous voice are : Late Lata Mangeshkar, Alka Yagnik, Asha Bhosle, and many more. Fascinating!

The list is endless. Women are so efficient that they can do multitasking, and can handle all types of work effectively and efficiently. She is as soft as silk and as hard as nails. Never undermine her powers.

What's our role?

As a daughter, mother, guide, teacher, doctor, caretaker or professionalist, women take care of every one around them. Isn't it our sole responsibility to let them feel proud, and to let them walk with their heads held high?
